Allen Schagene is originally from Louisville, Kentucky, and has taught in both private and public schools in Houston, Texas. He is a lifelong learner dedicated to helping educators, caregivers, and students develop meaningful AI literacy skills. With twelve years of experience as an elementary and middle school educator, Allen takes a practical, classroom-tested approach to showing how AI can be seamlessly integrated into teaching and learning.
In 2024, he received the ISTE 20 to Watch Award for his pioneering work in building AI lessons for PreK–4 through fifth-grade students using MagicSchool Student, with each lesson intentionally connected to the learning taking place in classrooms he supported.
Allen is known not only for his expertise but also for the joy and creativity he brings to every session. He often travels with his training partner, Bunz, and together they infuse professional learning with energy and fun—complete with sparkly jackets and light-up shoes—to remind educators that joy belongs at the center of teaching and learning. Whether working with teachers, families, or students, Allen creates engaging and uplifting experiences that leave participants feeling empowered, supported, and excited to try something new.
